ThreadSpec.org is a free reference website. We keep data collection to a minimum — this page explains what is collected and why.

What We Collect

We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for names, email addresses, or any other personal details to use the site. The thread calculator runs entirely in your browser — values you enter are never sent to our servers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, approximate location (city level), browser and device type, and referring website. This is done using cookies and similar identifiers set by Google.

The analytics data we see is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can learn how Google processes this data at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies

The only cookies on this site are those set by Google Analytics (names beginning with _ga). They are used to distinguish visitors and measure traffic. Blocking or deleting these cookies does not affect any site functionality.

Hosting and Server Logs

The site is served as static pages. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and operational purposes. We do not combine these logs with any other data.

Third-Party Content

Pages load the Tailwind CSS library and Google Analytics script from third-party content delivery networks. When your browser requests these files, the CDN operator receives your IP address as part of the normal request.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we hold no personal data about visitors, such requests are typically best directed to Google for analytics data. For anything else, contact us and we will help.

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
